OSLC and Ecumen Update — The talks between Our Savior’s and Ecumen are continuing on the
possible sale of part of OSLC property. The Board is doing our due diligence to make sure we secure a partnership with Ecumen that is in the best interests of OSLC today and in the future. The board has engaged an independent real estate appraiser, property attorney, architect, and members of our congregation who have expertise in real estate, finance, city planning, business, and history of the OSLC property. We have also involved the Property and Grounds Committee along with church staff. If all goes as planned and a Purchase Agreement acceptable to the Board is negotiated, we will reschedule the Congregational Meeting to vote on the sale of the OSLC land to Ecumen. Between now and then, we want members to have full opportunity to become informed about the partnership and sale and encourage anyone with questions to contact any Ecumen Task Force team member – Joel Frost, Orv Johnson, or Pastor Dale.

A deadline is quickly approaching to register for the Women’s Retreat “Sweet Life Cafe”.
The Cafe is a place women slow down and savor time with God and each other. The date is Friday, April 28th to Saturday, April 29 and the place is Koinonia Retreat Center near Annandale. There will be carpooling to and from. The cost is $100 for a double room or $120 for a private room. In order to have time to order supplies for the retreat we would like registrations to be in by April 14th. There are registration forms on the poster in the gathering area. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Adult Education Opportunities
All adult education sessions meet in the sanctuary at 9:15 am
The Schedule
• Sunday, April 9 – “How to Share Your Faith with Someone” (Matthew 28:16-20)
• Sunday, April 23 — 2017 Quarterly Financial Meeting — Joel Frost, church treasurer, will be holding the first quarterly meeting of the 2017 financial year. The first quarter results will be presented with a question and answer period following.
• Sunday, April 30 — Pastor Karen Castillo, the president of the Lutheran Church in Guatemala, will be with us and will share with us information and stories of the ILAG (Iglesia Luterana Augustin de Guatemala) and of our companion congregation in Zaculeu. Please join us to welcome her to Our Savior’s and to learn more about our relationship with their ministry in Guatemala.
• Sunday, May 7 — A representative from Cherish All Children will be leading Adult forum this day. The St. Paul Area Synod Cherish All Children Ministry Team works to educate and engage congregations in action to prevent child sexual exploitation. While we all see occasional reports on the news and our hearts are moved and troubled, this issue is too often hidden from our everyday lives. We want to believe this happens “somewhere else, not in my community.” But in fact, child sexual exploitation happens in cities, suburbs, out-state, and with children from all ethnicities and economic backgrounds. We are all called to advocate for all God’s children through prayer, education, and increased involvement in solutions. Please plan to attend.

Easter Breakfast Egg Bake — We are doing something extra this year for our Easter Breakfast Fundraiser! On top of fruit, donuts, and juice we are serving egg bakes! This is where we need your help. Please sign-up on the clip board located on the Welcome Desk at church to make an egg bake for our breakfast. Egg bakes should be dropped off to the kitchen no later than 9 am on Easter morning. All proceeds from the Breakfast go towards sending our High School youth to Colorado for our summer mission trip! Contact Chad with any questions!

The 4th annual Guatemala Gala is right around the corner and will be held on April 23, 2017 from 4:30-8:00 pm at the Southview Country Club in West St Paul. The Gala will include a benefit dinner with silent and live auctions. Pastor Karen Castillo of the ILAG will be the featured speaker. Money raised will be used in Guatemala to fund “Education for All” including secondary school scholarships for youth and adults, Colegio El Mirador (the ILAG’s elementary school), theological training for church leaders, women’s retreats, and the Centro Educativo Milagro (women’s education center). If you are interested in attending please contact Janet Metcalfe at before April 14th. Tickets are $75 each.
