Support for the Mlafu Mission Trip: Pastor Dale, Cindy Gackle and Sue Hedlund will be traveling to visit our Mlafu companion congregation in Tanzania October 23-November 3. They will be bringing gifts and offerings from our congregation to share with our brothers and sisters in Africa. There are 3 ways that you can help:
1. Drop your coins in the offering today for a “noisy offering” collection that will be used to off-set costs of the gifts.
2. Donate 2018 wall calendars that have photos of places and people in the US and Minnesota. Please leave the calendars on the welcome desk.
3. Donate up to 3 large, sturdy suitcases that can be left in Tanzania. They will be used to transport our gifts. Please leave them in the church office.
Thank you for your support!
Congregational Opportunity: On the evening of October 18th, OSLC has the opportunity to attend a Red Carpet Premier for the release of a new movie “Same Kind of Different as Me.” This is a story of homelessness, hunger, helping hands, and hope in today’s society. For this event, we will have an entire screen set aside just for OSLC at the White Bear Lake Cinema. Two days after the premier, the movie will be released nationally. This special premier is being sponsored by the Union Gospel Mission, Twin Cities. Save the date, more information will be forthcoming in the next few weeks!

PLANNING OUR FUTURE TOGETHER!
OSLC members, we are inviting you to complete the Church Assessment Tool (CAT), an on-line instrument that will help leaders gauge the strength, vitality, and trends in our church. The information gained from this assessment will be valuable in helping the Our Savior’s Church Board as they make decisions about the future of the congregation. Later this week you will receive an email with a unique link to the CAT. Beginning October 1, we are asking you to go online by clicking on the link provided and tell us about your experiences in and priorities for our church. If you are unable to complete the on-line version, paper based versions will be available at that time. Also, opportunities to complete the survey including assistance using the tool will be available between services and on Wednesday evenings during the month of October. If you have questions, please contact Ray Valley, John Lasswell, or any other member of the Board.
Many thanks — Your Board of Administration
