Adult Education today “Church History 101—Part 2: Guest Speaker David Shaw, OSLC member. An overview of the events and personalities that formed the core doctrine of the Christian Church. Next week, November 5: Guest Speaker Bishop Patricia Lull from the ELCA St. Paul Area Synod. Discussion about global and local partnerships, as well as lessons learned from the Reformation.
Girl’s Time Out — On November 3 Girl’s Time Out will travel to Minneapolis to tour the beautiful and historic Wesley United Methodist Church. The Wesley Center is one of the oldest large-scale churches in Minneapolis with a most interesting history and a beautiful and interesting interior space. The group will enjoy lunch together in Minneapolis before returning to Stillwater. Cars will leave Our Savior’s at 9:00 am. A sign up sheet can be found on the Welcome Desk.
Christmas Cookie Bakers Needed! It’s that time of year again! The Women’s Team is looking for Christmas cookie bakers for our annual fundraiser. We will need 20-25 people to bake 10-20 dozen cookies each. You pick the cookie from our list, bake them and have them back to church by Friday, December 8th at 10 am. We will pack them in trays of 10 or 6 dozen to be sold for $40 or $25. Please sign up in the Gathering Area at church between services on October 29, November 5 and November 12. Advent Teas — We know that Advent seems far away but it is time to be planning for the Women’s Advent Teas. If you would be willing to host or lead a tea, please be in touch with Becky Maier at email@example.com or (651)271-3758 or let the church office know. Teas will be held the week of December 4-10.
Youth Donut Fundraiser — OSLC Youth will be selling donuts by the dozen between services on November 12. If you would like to pre-order, there is a sign-up on the Welcome Desk along with an envelope to place your payment. Otherwise, feel free to stop by the counter on November 12 and order at that time!
Elementary Christmas Program Sign-up — Calling all Shepherds, Angels, and Wise Men! The signup for this year’s elementary Christmas Program, “Unexpected Guests,” is now available. Details about the story, the cast roles, music performer opportunities, and rehearsal schedules are posted on the signup board in the Gathering Area.
3rd Grade FaithMarker “Back-to-the-Bible is happening on Sunday, November 12 from 9:15-10:15 am. Your 3rd grader will be receiving the Connect Study Bible at this FaithMarker. Parents & guardians please attend with your child or another special adult is welcome to join us in your absence. Please RSVP to the church office (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you plan to attend this FaithMarker.
Families, please sign up to help with “All Worship” services happening Wednesday, November 15 at 5:30 pm and Sunday, November 19, at 10:30 am!
Join us for the Harvest Festival — Today from 5:00-7:00 pm. Come and enjoy carnival games, chili cook-off, bingo, pumpkin carving (bring your own pumpkin & tools); judging will take place at 6:15 pm, costume parade (all ages!), free food and cake walk! This is an event for ALL ages. Feel free to invite your friends!
Meals from the Heart — Reminder to those who have not yet paid, please drop off your $10/person check in the drop box. Checks should be made out to OSLC with Meals from the Heart on the memo line. Thank you!
