Altar Flowers today are given by Kathy & Dale Newton in gratitude for blessings.

The 2018 Altar Flower Chart is now available. Check the bulletin board in the Information Corner of the Gathering Area. Cost is $35.00 for either an altar arrangement or an additional flower arrangement. Payment is requested when you sign-up. Envelopes are provided by the chart for your use. Please drop off payments in the drop box slot on the Welcome Desk.

Preliminary Budget Meeting & Annual Meeting—A meeting to discuss the 2017 financial results and the proposed 2018 budget will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. in the sanctuary. The annual congregational meeting will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. in the sanctuary.

The 2018 offering envelopes are here. Please pick yours up today in the Gathering Area. Please print your name and write your NEW envelope number on the sheet(s)  provided.  Be sure to recycle your left over 2017 envelopes (DO NOT USE THEM IN 2018). Thank you!

Faith Formation for all ages resumes today.

TODAY in Adult Education: Hear stories from Tanzania & Guatemala—Those who traveled to Tanzania and Guatemala this fall share their stories about the people and the experiences they had on those trips.  Join them in the sanctuary at 9:15 a.m. for this special presentation!

Upcoming Adult Education: “Make It OK–Reducing the Stigma of Mental Illness”: Each year, 1 in 4 Americans experiences a mental illness. Most will wait an average of 10 years before seeking treatment, largely due to stigma. There is now a local effort to change hearts and minds about the misconceptions about mental illnesses. Join Sue Hedlund and Stacy Meyer at Adult Education on January 21 for a presentation designed to encourage people to talk more openly about mental illness and ask for help.

Property & Grounds Meeting on January 8—This committee will meet on Monday, January 8 at 6 pm at church. We are in need of volunteers to serve on the P & G committee. If anyone is willing to help out with projects, even if they cannot attend meetings, please contact Shari & Bruce Ohland to be added to the group.

Girls Night Out – COME PAINT WITH US! on Friday, January 19, 2018, 6:30 – 9:00 pm.
No Experience Necessary! Join Artist Sandy Danus from Cheerful Hearts Portable Paint Studio as she leads a simple & fun step-by-step group acrylic painting class. Everything is provided. Cost: $25/person; payable at the church by Wednesday, January 17th. Cash accepted, or checks written out to OSLC, with “women’s painting class” written on the memo line.

Sunday Morning Volunteers Needed—There is a continuing need for Sunday morning volunteers to extend hospitality as Greeters, Welcome Desk Attendants, Ushers, Readers or Communion Servers. Members and friends with last names beginning E-H are especially called upon for help during January & February, though anyone can sign up who enjoys serving in these capacities. Please go to our website and sign-up under “What’s Happening” or contact Kathy in the office (651-439-5704) if you would like to volunteer. Thank you!

Valley Outreach Food Shelf — Volunteers Needed. OSLC will be staffing the food shelf January 17 and 19, 2018. Volunteers are needed for a 3 hour shift (9:30 am -12:30 pm) to assist clients with their food needs and stocking shelves. Please consider this  opportunity to help. A sign-up sheet is on the Welcome Desk. The food shelf is located at 1911 Curve Crest Blvd. W. next to the Gazette.

Poinsettias—If you ordered a poinsettia for our Christmas displays, please be sure to stop by the Gathering Area and pick it up!

Thank you for all the prayers said for me during my knee surgery.  Also thanks to all who sent cards, food, flowers and rides.  All is going well with me and again thanks for the prayers, etc., Audrey Reed

2018 Mission Trip Informational Meeting on Jan 9th at 7p—We are excited to announce that our 2018 Summer Mission Trip for grades 9-12 will be held in Lexington County, South Carolina! The meeting will be held in the youth room to go over the details of the trip. Get pumped!

Confirmation Parent and Student Night on Jan 10th at 7p—We are excited to welcome Robin Sobczak as our speaker for the evening! Robin is a long-time member of OSLC and will be sharing on the accounts that unfolded on August 28th, 2012, when two of her children were involved in a car accident with a drunk driver.

Calling all 10th-12th Grade students and Adults! – We will be competing in a hockey game vs. Watermark Church as a part of the 3rd Annual Sticks in Stillwater Festival on Friday, January 12th. If you are interested in playing, please sign-up on the youth board outside the youth room or email Chad. This is a wonderful opportunity for Our Savior’s to be present in our community!
