Welcome to Our Savior’s!

Announcements for Sunday, May 12, 2019

Flowers today are given by Ruth & OJ Rustad in honor of Mary Ann Anderson’s 88th birthday.

Rachel’s Day: This Sunday the women of Our Savior’s acknowledge Rachel’s Day with a single white rose on the altar. This is a day when we remember the children harmed due to violence. Violence is embedded into many a child’s life. While gun violence is the major source of violence, drugs, abuse, neglect, poor education, health and hunger also cause harm to children. Rachel’s Day is based on Jeremiah 31:15-17 wherein Rachel grieved for her children. Please pray for all children around the world that they may be free from harm!

Mission Jamaica 2020: Mary Anderson will be attending a leadership/organizational meeting for Mission Jamaica at the end of May. They are holding 10 spots for a team from OSLC for the week of March 14-21, 2020. If you have an interest in going on this “Vacation with a Purpose” please talk to Mary about this by May 19. (MaryGrandmaMary@comcast.net or 651-430-1429)

Flowers Will Be Blooming at OSLC: Want to join the watering club? Each year OSLC has numerous volunteers who donate their time to care for our beautiful flower gardens. If you would like to join the weekly watering club, contact Jean Schad (651-439-7357) or Karen Miller (651-307-3567). The cost of flowers has been donated by generous volunteers. Thank you!

Can you visit a church friend? Last Sunday, members of the Health & Caring Ministry Team were available to answer questions about how to become a “Friendly Visitor.” We are still recruiting volunteers to deliver meals or flowers or just stop in to say “hi” to a member who cannot get to church. A short training/orientation session will be provided to volunteers. If you are already a visitor, please let us know so we can have a complete list of people to call on. If interested, please contact Stacy Meyer, Parish Nurse or Sue.K.Hedlund@gmail.com or at 651-303-8322.

Summer Music! To share your Musical Gifts at Summer Sunday Worship, please sign-up at the Music Room Bulletin Board or contact Jane Gay. We look forward to hearing from you!

Summer Stretch registration is now open for Jr. High students from grades 6th (completed) to 9th (finished)! For 4 Wednesdays in June we will meet for service work in the morning and a fun activity in the afternoon with the exception of the last week where we will be spending all day at Valley Fair! Registration forms available at the “Information Corner” of the Gathering Area.

Rummage Sale! The Youth Rummage Sale Fundraiser is taking place Saturday, May 18 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please make sure the items you donate have the potential for resale. No furniture, appliances, TVs or beds accepted. Items may be dropped off at the church beginning Wednesday, May 15. Questions? Please contact Chad Larson, Youth Director, 425-281-8315.

On June 2nd our mission trip youth will host a fundraiser called Wash and Worship! This is where you can drop off your car before you head into church and we will have it washed for you by the time you get out! We’ll be set up in the west parking lot (the big one) and we would love to wash your car. We hope you can come and support our students and leaders as they raise funds for our summer mission trip to Portland, OR.

Thank you to all who donated socks and underwear for Lutheran Social Service. Our Savior’s members donated 125 pair of socks and 95 underwear. This is certainly enough to make a difference in the lives of others! They have all now been taken to LSS.

Lawn Mowing Season! Did you know there were 21 lawn-mowing days in 2018 by our dedicated volunteers! Many thanks to our Property & Grounds volunteers who help OSLC save thousands of dollars on lawn mowing fees.
