New Opportunity for 2016-17: “Time for Parents”!
Please join us for a new and exciting weekly opportunity! Starting September 18th, 2016 at 9:15a in the Narthex (area outside the sanctuary), we will meet for discussion around special topics of interest to you as adults/parents.
This is your chance to connect with other parents, give your input on the selected topic for the day, or just listen to what others share. Chad will facilitate the conversation to create a healthy environment for people to share their experiences and opinions on topics like communication, managing conflict, boundaries, social media, dealing with hardship and much more!
Coffee, donuts, and childcare will be provided! The youth room will also be open during this time for Jr. High and High School students to hang out in.
We are so excited for you to be involved in this new opportunity and for you to grow in relationships with other parents!
Family FaithMarkers celebrate the partnership between parents, church and God in raising our children in the faith! They provide a wonderful way for families to connect with each other and with the church. This ministry at Our Savior’s was designed for parents and children. It is a time to explore important aspects of faith through a one-hour class.
Our FaithMarkers for 2016-17 include:
- First Communion
- 2 year old FaithMarker when children receive their Spark Bible
- 3rd Grade FaithMarker when students receive the Connect Bible
Families will receive an invitation two weeks before their special class. Sibling care is always available during these classes!
Special note on First Communion FaithMarker:
Holy Communion is one of two sacraments in the Lutheran Church. At Our Savior’s, we have empowered parents/guardians, as the primary nurturers of faith, to decide when their child is ready to receive instruction in preparation for Holy Communion. We offer an evening class for children and parents/guardians to attend so that children can receive their First Communion. This evening is structured toward children 1st grade and older; should you feel that your child is ready to receive the sacrament prior to the 1st grade, an individual teaching may be arranged with our pastors.
