Adult Forum Today at 9:15 am in the Sanctuary: Guest Speaker — Rev. Nancy Nord Bence from “Protect Minnesota” Gun violence is a pervasive negative influence in America today, stealing lives, devastating families, oppressing communities, and costing Minnesota over $2 billion every year. People of faith recognize that every life is precious to God, but often hesitate to engage in an issue that seems so controversial and intractable. This presentation will focus on gun violence as an array of inter-related public health problems that can be solved – and explain how people of faith can be an important part of the solution.

What Exactly is this Stephen Ministry We’ve Been Hearing About? Stephen Ministry is lay caring ministry. Stephen Ministers are not counselors or therapists; rather, they are caring Christian friends who can offer a listening ear to help others through the tough times in life. Stephen Ministers are trained and supervised in their ministry. On November 18 Our Savior’s will commission 15 Stephen Ministers who will have completed 50 hours of training for this special ministry. If you are going through a tough time and could use a caring friend, please talk with or send an email to our Parish Nurse, Stacy Meyer (email@example.com) or with Becky Maier (firstname.lastname@example.org), who are the Stephen Minister leaders here at Our Savior’s. They would very much like to talk with you.
